The annual report of the fire company of Camden, N. J., exhibits the following facts: Active members, 57; contributing members, 43; honorary members, 1; total, 101. Receipts for the year, $1,355.21; expenditures, $441.80; balance, $914.41. The records show there have been six fires during the past year. The contributions received from the public towards the new chemical engine, recently purchased, amounted to $1,325.50; cost of the engine, $1,200; fire extinguisheis. 45; lanterns, acid, and soda cans, $24.38; total, $1,269 38, leaving a balance of $56. 12 towards the purchase of harness for use in drawing the engine by horses.
