Cedar Rapids Makes Gratifying Report
The report of the Cedar Rapids, Ia., fire department for the past year has been very gratifying. The fact that the city is able to make such a good report is due in no small part to the efficiency of the department. Getting out of the stations and to the fires in short notice have saved a great deal of property. The firemen were able to get to the scene and have the tire out before a great amount of damage could be done. Then, again, the losses have been kept down by the use of chemicals instead of water whenever possible. The total number of alarms was 219.
