CHICAGO BRIDGE AND IRON WORKS WINS.

At Moline, Ill., the Chicago Bridge and Iron Works has received the contract for a standpipe 100 ft. high, with a 100,000-gal. capacity, at $5,300. the work to he done by May 1, 1908. Des Moines Bridge and Iron Works bid at $5,750. The bid of the Sandusky Foundry and Machine company, of Sandusky, Ohio, of $975 for an 8×12 pump was accepted. The Gould Manufacturing company, of Chicago, offered a pump for $625. The council voted 4 to I for the former. Pierce & Lundquist, of East Moline, were given the contract for the erection of the pumping station at $625.
