Chief C. M. Nicholson Resigns

Chief Charles M. Nicholson, of the Council Bluffs, Ia., fire department, has resigned on account of ill health, and will retire May 1. Chief Nicholson is the oldest member of the department in years of service. He has been a fireman for forty years. chief since the early nineties, and is 62 years of age. He is now confined to his home by a severe attack of congestion of the lungs. For two years his health has caused friends much concern. He is a chicken fancier and may devote his time to raising choice poultry after he leaves the department. He will receive a pension.
