J. R. Canterbury has been reappointed chief of the fire department of Minneapolis, Minn., with Augustus Runge as his first assistant. Chief Canterbury’s reappointment is largely the result of his superior executive ability, careful financial management, and perfected discipline of the fire department. Chief Canterbury has saved the city money, got his department into thorough working order, and maintained the strictest discipline.
