CHIEF CLANCY OF MILWAUKEE.
First Assistant Chief James Clancy, of the Milwaukee fire department, has been appointed chief engineer in place of the late Herman Meminger. The new head of the department is well equipped for the place. He has filled all subordinate positions as fireman in the service and now graduates to the highest position with a ripe experience for the onerous and dangerous duties he is called upon to perform. No doubt Milwaukee w’ill find Chief Clancy an able and efficient officer, and the fine force under him will work as a unit in carrying out the orders of a comrade who is so well liked and respected bv all of its members. The accompanying portrait of Chief Clancy, made by FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING, is a very good likeness of him today. George Linkmann, fifth assistant chief, was made first assistant. He was made fifth assistant by the late Chief Meminger.
