CHIEF HALE’S FOREIGN TOUR

Chief Hale, of Kansas City, Mo, is keeping his team in strict training for its work at the Paris Exposition in August. The men composing the pompier crew are also developing marvelous results. Men, horses, and equipment will hardly he equaled anywhere. The engine is gold and silver-mounted and throws a stream 200 feet high. Chief Halo will also take with him a number of models showing all the latest inventions pertaining to fire departments. This will ho known as the educational department, but it will be a portable exposition on wheels. These goods will be shown and displayed by Chief Hale and his men, and, no doubt, the interest of American inventors and manufacturers will be greatly advanced by this exhibition. The tour of Chief Hale will he under the management of the officers and directors of the International Exhibition company. The crew, with apparatus, etc., will make a tour of Europe before returning home and will give exhibitions in the principal foreign cities—the proceeds to be devoted to the different funds of firemen where they appear. They will gather a number of historical objects, including vehicles and souvenirs of famous fires, to to bring back to America. Upon their return to New York exhibitions will be given in the principal cities of America, in connection with the firemen of America and Canada—the proceeds to be devoted to the funds of firemen, veterans, and others. Steamers, hose carts, and book and ladder trucks from the different countries of the world will be brought back, including carriages of the royalties of the old world. Foreign firemen, with their native costumes, will be obtained and shown in the great street parades and contests that will be made in the principal cities of this country. The combination will make a gigantic spectacular show that will not only prove interesting to the public, but of agreat educational benefit to the firemen of the country, and will, no doubt, place thousands of dollars into the funds of the worthiest charity known, and that is for the widows and orphans of firemen Firemen of America desiring to obtain information regarding the American tour of Hale’s American and European organization can do so by addressing Dr. C.
