Chief Johnson, Bridgeport, Presented With Car
Chief Daniel E. Johnson of the Bridgeport, Connecticut, fire department, has been presented with a new Locomobile six cylinder, 48 h.p. touring car by the members of the board of fire commissioners in that city. Chief Johnson will use the car to answer alarms and other official business connected with the department. The new machine, neatly painted in blue and black, is strictly a local product, having been built especially for Chief Johnson at the Locomobile Company’s plant, Seaside Park, Bridgeport. A Federal six-volt electric siren, to be used only when Chief Johnson is responding to alarms, is a new feature attached to the car and extends from the front headlights a few inches above the bumper. The accompanying illustration shows Chief Johnson about to take his first ride in the new machine.
