CHIEF JOYNER AND THE CONVENTION.
Chief Joyner, of Atlanta, Ga., president of the International Association of Fire Engineers, was in the city this week in connection with the annual meeting of the National Fire Protective association, He attended the meeting of the South Eastern Tariff association last week, and there brought to the atention of its members the importance of the annual meetings of the organisation of which he is head, at whose conventions all questions relating to fire prevention are discussed. He also explained the nature of the exhibits of fire apparatus and appliances displayed at these conventions; and extended an invitation to members of the Tariff association to attend the corivention at Chattanooga. Several large delegations agreed to be present. Such work as this is required in the International Association of Fire Engineers, and it is expected that through the energy of Chief Joyner a larger and more interesting meeting will be held this year than on any previous meeting fn the history of the association.
