Chief’s Authority Broadened in Findlay

As a result of a disastrous fire in a department store the city council of Findlay, Ohio, passed an ordinance broadening the authority of Chief Charles M. Arthur of the fire department and requiring him to select deputy fire wardens from among the firemen of his department to investigate fire hazards and submit reports and suggestion for improvement of conditions. Investigation as to desirability of adding more motor equipment to the department is also under way.
