Chief Takes Medic Training

Chief Takes Medic Training

When 24 DeKalb County, Ga., firemen completed a 110-hour emergency medical technician course, they didn’t have to tell Chief Dudley Martin how tough the course was. The DeKalb County chief knew—he took the course with them.

Still enthusiastic about such training Martin arranged with the DeKalb Medical Society and DeKalb General Hospital for an additional nine weeks of training during which they gained cardiac care and emergency room experience at the hospital. The training was keyed to the arrival of three medical rescue vehicles ordered by the county.
