Chief Weigand, Trenton, Retires
Chief Rolland H. Weigand retired as head of the Trenton, N. J., Fire Department and brought to a close a career of thirty-three years in fighting fires, He retired because of ill health.
He became a hoseman on October 27, 1905; Lieutenant on November 1, 1911; Captain on January 1, 1917; Battalion Chief, January 10, 1921, and Assistant Chief in June, 1921. He was named Chief in May, 1935.
Chief Weigand will be succeeded by Deputy Chief Thomas J. Phelan.
