Cincinnati Purification Plant.

The report of Assistant State Engineer Burgess of his examination of the purification plant at the Cincinnati, Ohio, waterworks, includes the following: “In general it may be said that the plant is so satisfactory that it is difficult to suggest any improvements, either in construction or operation.” The engineer also highly commends the filter service, calling attention to the greater frequency in the washing of the filters made necessary by the increased muddiness of the river at certain periods. During October, he says the wash water used averaged 5.1 per cent., over double the average amount used during the year.
