CIRCULAR TO FIRE ENGINEERS.

A circular has been sent out by Secretary McFall, of the International Association of Fire Engineers, to such chiefs of fire departments as are not members of the department, inviting them to become so, and urging them to induce the municipal authorities of their respective cities and towns to defray their expenses to Dallas, Tex., the convention city for 1006. The circular says that it is proposed to make the association “just what its name implies—Fire Chiefs’ association”—one that represents the brains of the fire service, an association that will have a standing before the people, one that will be considered an authority, both bv the municipalities and the fire insurance organisations, an association that will impart real live information, one that will give you something in return for your membership.” ‘‘The bureau of information should appeal to every progressive and up-to-date fire chief’ as a “clearinghouse for the ideas of all, for the education of the individual and the upbuilding of the lire service in general.” The secretary has also sent a “Bulletin to Members,” giving them an account of the proceedings at the meeting of November 22, called by President Stagg, of Trenton, N.
