The Cleveland (OH) Fire Department has launched an investigation after one firefighter‘s comments caused an outcry on social media, according to reports.

newsnet5.com reported on the case of Guy Estergall, who posted comments critical of homosexuals on the popular Humans of New York Facebook page.

Estergall told newsnet5.com that the comments did not represent the department or his position as a firefighter.

In his comments to reporters, Cleveland Fire spokesman Larry Gray said that all firefighters must read and sign a social media policy that lays out what is and is not acceptable.

This case comes on the heels of a June episode in which a Texas firefighter was terminated over his comments regarding the deadly mass-shooting of black congregants at a church in Charlesotn, South Carolina.
