CLEVELAND’S FIRE CHIEF IN THE SERVICE 52 YEARS

Cleveland, Ohio.—With the rounding out of fifty-two years of continuous service on June 1, friends of Fire Chief George A. Wallace say he is the oldest fireman in the world in point of service.

Chief Wallace has been at the head of Cleveland’s fire department for more than twenty years, having joined the department in 1869. He carries himself like a man of forty.
