Columbian Iron Works Acquires Plant
The Columbian Iron Works of Chattanooga, Tenn., has acquired the plant and equipment of the Continental Machinery Company of that city, including a tract of land of about ten acres. Plans are under way for the construction of a new factory to be erected on the unit plan. The company will specialize in the manufacture of fire hydrants, sprinklers and other fire-fighting equipment and will operate a large foundry.
Penn Yan Awards Fire Alarm Contract—A contract has been awarded by the Pen Yan. N. Y., village hoard of trustees to the Gamewell Company of New York City for the installation of a fire alarm system.
South Bend, Wash., Acquires New Pumper — A new Gramm-Bernstein triple combination car has been delivered to the South Bend, Wash., fire department by the Howard Cooper Corporation of Portland. The apparatus carries ladders, pike poles and axes.
Fresno Showmen to Comply with Strict Fire Law—The fire prevention and safety prevention regulations recommended by Fire Marshal W. Ralph Williams in connection with the recent survey of all Fresno, Cal., theatres. Will be complied with in their entirety immediately. This will bring every theatre up to the standards demanded by the fire department.
