Confessed Arsonist Required to Pay

Punishment for arson took a new tack in Texas recently, according to the National Automobile Theft Bureau. Walter Alexander, Sulphur Springs, was required to pay $141.25 to an insurance company to cover expense of adjustment.

Alexander pleaded guilty in District Court of Hopkins County to a charge of willfully burning an insured automobile and was sentenced to two to five years in the Texas Department of Correction but was placed on adult probation after restitution had been made.
