J., are builders of direct and alternating current motors for driving pumps, this, however, being but one of a number of lines of electrical apparatus built by this company. A few recent units supplied will serve to give an idea of the range available for small plants; 7 1/2 horsepower compound wound motor operating on direct current at 220 volts and driving a Gould triplex pump at 875 r. p. m.; 130 horsepower, direct current, motor wound for 230 volts and designed to drive an Epping-Carpenter single stage centrifugal at 1,200 r. p. m.; 75 h. p. induction motor operating on 60 cycle, three phase alternating current at 2,200 volts, and driving an Aldrich triplex pnmp at 570 r. p. m., also a motor of similar type driving a Jackson-Church five-stage centrifugal.
