Dayton Tri-Car Chemical at Army Maneuvres
An illustration herewith shows the Dayton Tri-Car Chemical which participated in the recent army maneuvers at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City. The Dayton Tri-Car Chemical was allotted to the Motorcycle Division, and the demonstration of the car was brought about by army officers who wanted to see its operation in case an apparatus ot this nature could be utilized for war purposes. The picture shows Governor Whitman and his staff inspecting the machine. One of the staff is explaining to the Governor the equipment and operation of the apparatus. One of the Dayton Tri-Car chemicals was installed by the Woodhouse Manufacturing Co., agents, at the Sheepshead Bay Speedway track in connection with the Astor cup races. In a public demonstration for the judges and officials the car with the 35-gallon tank and two three-gallon extinguishers, fully loaded, circled the two mile track in three minutes and 56 seconds, and the demonstration given so pleased the officials as well as Fire Department officials in charge of the Speedway fire protection that the Tri-Car was unanimously adopted for fire protection purposes for the track, grandstand and buildings.
