DE FROMENT AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM TRANSMITTER.

DE FROMENT AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM TRANSMITTER.

The De Froment pyroxylin automatic fire alarm system installed in the city hall of Winnipeg,Man.,has had an ingenious apparatus added to it, also the invention of M. De Froment. By means of this the alarm is given in the Central fire hall as soon as it rings in the building in which the fire is starting. The Winnipeg Free Press, after relating a very successful test that was made of the invention, says that

a single circuit of two wires is all that is needed to connect all the buildings having the pyroxylin fire alarm with the fire hall. Every building is connected with this circuit by a loop, and has its own signal arranged according to the Morse telegraph alphabet. * * * The signals were given with very great distinct ness.

The great advantage in the De Froment automaticfire alarm transmitter is that, besides doing all that was done before, the alarm will now be given automatically and instantaneously in the Centtral fire hall, avoiding the delay which would occur by the caretaker having to telephone or otherwise notify the brigade.
