Death of George Rodney Meneely
George Rodney Meneely died suddenly on the 24th inst. He was born in West Troy (now Watervliet), N. Y., on March 15, 1831. Receiving an academic education, Mr. Mcnecly, at the death of his father in 1851, assumed, with an elder brother, Edwin A. Mencely, the proprietorship of the bell business, which their father had established in 1828 in West Troy, and had bequeathed to them. This connection continued for twenty-five years, during which Meneely bells and chimes became famous throughout the country.
