Distribution of Fire Protection Fund

Distribution of Fire Protection Fund

The New Mexico law, which provides for the annual distribution of the “Fire Protection Fund,” was amended by the recent Legislature to allow incorporated cities, towns and villages whose population is five thousand or less, to allow expenses of firemen in attending state, county and city “fire schools.”

Written approval of the State Superintendent of Insurance must be secured for this expenditure and it will be necessary for the fire chief to submit full information regarding the fire school which he or members of his department desire to attend.
