Dog Saves Woman from TN House Fire

Ooltewah (TN) – A woman and her dog escaped an early morning house fire in Ooltewah.

According to Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Stan Hardy, the fire call came in at 12:52 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the 8400 block of Providence Road, the log home had flames shooting out of the roof. Hardy says it took his crew about four hours to put out the flames.

The homeowner said at the scene that she was woken up by her dog and then she heard the fire alarms going off. She said her dog likely saved her life. The homeowner and the dog were able to get out safely.
