Dominion Chiefs Should Attend Convention

In a circular issued from the office of President J. H. Carlisle of the Dominion Association of Fire Chiefs, it is urged that all Canadian chiefs arrange to attend the convention of the association, which takes place on July 30, August 1 to 3, at Vancouver, B. C. The letter points out that no Canadian fire department head can afford to miss the opportunity of attending the convention and taking part in its deliberations. Chief Carlisle says:

“Your particular attention is a gain hereby drawn to the absolute necessity fur either yourself, deputy, or other representative from your department. to attend the Dominion Fire Chiefs’ convention to be held in this city, commencing July 30 next. So many important topics, dealing with all matters pertaining to both fire fighting and prevention work, are included on the convention’s agenda paper, and which will furnish instruction even to the most experienced delegates, that no fire department head can possibly afford to forego. It is to be eminently a chiefs’ convention, all papers, reports, etc., being entirely the efforts of men, whose years of hard and practical experience on the “firingline” entitles them only to speak with that authority which no others can possibly possess, hence, the necessity for your attendance at this gathering. There is no question but that every official present will return home with considerably broadened ideas and greater knowledge of his calling, so you are, therefore, again most strongly urged to make every possible effort to be with us on July 30th next.”
