Dominion Chiefs to Meet in August

The twenty-ninth annual convention of the Dominion Association of Fire Chiefs will be held in Oshawa, On., on August 34 to 26 If necessary, sessions will be held on August 27.

Chief Thomas Paveling, East York. Ont., is in charge of the exhibits and Chief W. R. Elliott, Oshawa, is in charge of the hotel accommodations. The Secretary of the association is Chief James Armstrong, Kingston. Ont.

Enclosed Rescue Squad Car for Detroit, Mich. An enclosed type of rescue car, mounted on a Ford V8 truck, has heen added to the equipment of the Detroit Fire Department. The car carries hydraulic jacks for raising fallen beams, a life line GUN and a life net. In one compartment are gas extinguishers and acetylene cutters for cutting through steel doors and beams. The unit also has gas masks, inhalator, pulmotor, oxygen, stretchers, splints and helmets, salvage covers, brooms, etc. Capt. Daniel L. Teahan, in charge of one of the rescue squads, is shown in the cab.
