FAITHFULNESS REWARDED.

FAITHFULNESS REWARDED.

With the money contributed by public subscription for the mother, sister, and helpless brother of Warren Guion, the heroic elevator operator at the Windsor hotel, Manhattan, anew two-story brick and wood house has been purchased for, and presented to Mrs. Guion. It is at 1226 Tinton avenue, Bronx borough and pleasantly situated on a high and open residential section, between One Hundred and Sixty-eighth and One Hundred and Sixty-ninth streets Guion had been the elevator operator in the Windsor for many years. Old patrons of the house grew to know him well; and when on the day of the fire, his faithfulness was put to great trial, he met it perfectly. He stayed in the elevator, running it up and down to save the guests, until he was himself cut off from escae and burned to death.
