FDIC attendees will have the opportunity to obtain the answers to all the questions they may have concerning the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program at the Panelist Experience Workshop on Friday, March 25, 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The workshop is presented by Cathie Patterson, Branch Chief of the AFG Program, at the Lucas oil Stadium, Classroom 1. It “offers an up-close and personal view that shows exactly how and what happens during the Fire Grants Peer Review process,” explains Patterson.
Workshop attendees will participate in exercises that reveal the panelists’ experiences with the competitive narratives of grant applicants. Suggestions for improving narratives, evaluation criteria, peer review panelists’ application scoring, and other areas within a grant application that affect success will be covered..
Patterson and her staff will be available from March 21 through March 26 to talk with attendees. They will be at Booth 5662 and will also hold a town hall meeting on Friday, March 25, 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. in the Convention Center, rooms 138-139. Attendees are urged to bring their questions and any concerns about the program. They can also gain a better understanding of the overall AFG program.
