Fechheimer Brothers Company, a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of fire stationwear work uniforms, was granted ISO 9001 Registration from UL on June 7. The registration includes the company’s Cincinnati, OH, Hodgenville, KY, and Grantsville, MD sites.
This registration affirms that the company’s management system has met the quality requirements developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 9001 focuses on quality system requirements for a company’s design, manufacturing, installation processes, and servicing systems.
The registration process, which began in 2000, involves a UL on-site assessment, examination of documented procedures, and a survey of the company’s overall operations. To determine continued compliance with ISO 9001, UL will periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of Fechheimer Brothers Company Operations.
“By achieving our ISO 9001 registration, we were able to satisfy all of our customers’ expectations and comply with NFPA contractual requirements,” says Randy Baumgartner, manufacturing vice president. “This is a significant achievement for Fechheimer Brothers Company; to have fulfilled the rigid and difficult ISO Standards in such a short time. We feel that we have objectively demonstrated our commitment to customer satisfaction. We’re proud of every employee who worked very hard to meet all of the requirements necessary for registration.”
