Fire Alarm Improvements in Minneapolis
The fire department committee of the city council of Minneapolis, Minn., recently recommended the purchase of a switchboard in the basement of the City Hall at a cost of $14,500. This, it is claimed, will care for the needs of the city for the next twenty-five years. The fire department has an appropriation in excess of $100,000 for work on the fire alarm system this year, but outside work on the cables will not begin until a survey to determine the most feasible cable routes has been completed. During the next three years the department plans to expend about $218,000 on its fire alarm system.
