Fire at Michigan Packing Plant
The plant of the Michigan Packing Company, at Saginaw, Mich., was partly destroyed July 21 by fire which swept through the entire structure at midnight. The factory portion of the building was destroyed and the warehouse was damaged. The loss is estimated near to $10,000. The fire began in the cooking department. In the warehouse were 4,000 cases each containing 24 or 48 cans of pork and beans ready for shipment. These were badly smoked and the damage to them was difficult to estimate. The plant was built about three years ago.
