Fire Brigade for World’s Fair

Fourteen firemen who served in two Chicago fire insurance patrols that were disbanded, started duty in the private Fire Department of the Century of Progress, otherwise called the World’s Fair.

The department is in charge of John C. McDonnell, retired First Deputy l ire Marshal of the Chicago Fire Department. He has served in this department for forty vears and at the time of his retirement in 1924. was in charge of the Fire Prevention Bureau.
