Fire Has Special Meaning to Wood River Valley Firefighters

At approximately 01:09 AM a structure fire was reported in Hailey by a Hailey firefighter. The fire was located in a three-unit dwelling which was occupied at the time. Initial reports were occupants had been evacuated and heavy smoke was visible by fire responding units. 

During the initial search/fire attack structural integrity was questioned due to high heat and amount of fire present. Five fire departments responded: Hailey, Wood River, Bellevue, Ketchum and Sun Valley. No occupants were injured, but two firefighters were transported to the hospital for evaluation. 

Approximately 55 firefighters were involved and additional assistance from utilities and other City of Hailey Departments. This fire has special meaning to all responding firefighters due to one of the units belonging to a Hailey firefighter.
