Fire Improvements of Schenectady, N, Y.
The City Council of Schenectady, N. Y., has authorized a $30,000 bond issue to purchase a motor combination wagon for No. 9 station, the rebuilding of No. 3 station, the remodeling of No. 6 station, for a fire alarm and police alarm headquarters, and the placing of fire and police wires underground in seven streets, the conduits for which are owned by the telephone company and all conduits laid in the city must have ducts for fire and police wires. When this work is completed Schenectady will have one of the most complete and up-to-date fire alarm headquarters in the country. It is a two-story brick building and as near fire-proof as any fire alarm headquarters in the country. It is of fire-proof construction throughout, and all wires enter it underground.
