FIRE LIMITS EXTENDED
Washington, D. C.—An extension of the fire limits has been put into effect by the District commissioners in order to further limit inflammable wooden structures, rated as buildings of the third class. The present limits are followed, but the new lines are straightened out at several points, to include the navy yard and the War college, Woodley park, the west boundary of Zoological park; nearly all of Petworth, Glenwood cemetery, the filtration plant, Graceland cemetery, the new subdivisions of Rosedale, Isherwood and Trinidad, Oak Mill cemetery, the Congressional cemetery and the government jail north of it.
Within these boundaries it will be unlawful to erect, enlarge or move buildings of the third class. Buildings of that character existing there now must remain as they are until torn down, to be replaced by safer structures.
