According to the figures of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for 1908 the greatest per capita for Connecticut cities was in Nor wich, where it reached $4.32. New London was second with a loss of $3.66 per capita, Stamford third with $3.22 per capita: Hartford fourth, with $1.55 per capita, and Danbury fifth, with $1.54. The smallest loss reported to the underwriters for the State wain the city of New Britain, where the losshown was 86 cents per capita.
