Fire Losses Rise 9 Percent

An increase of $111 million, or 9.3 percent, in fire losses during the first six months of this year compared to the first half of 1972 has been reported by the Insurance Services Office. The estimated fire losses for both insured and uninsured property totaled $1.3 billion.

The estimated loss for last June was $223 million, an increase of $36 million over June 1972.
