FIRE NOTES FROM ST. LOUIS.

Correspondence of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING.

ST. LOUIS, MO., March 6, 1907.

A check for $500 was sent to the Firemen’s Relief fund of St. Louis, Mo., by the Globe Clothing company for good work done by the fire department at the recent big fire on their premises.— The Relief and Firemen fund of the fire department has now a capital of $9,000. To make it self-sustaining it should have $200,000 funded.— A State law just passed makes it a penal offence to turn in a false alarm of fire intentionally. During 1906 over 5,000 alarms were answered by the fire department.
