Fire Survey of Norway

According to a recent report of the U. S. Department of Commerce, no less than forty-five Norwegian municipalities of populations over 1,000 have some fire-fighting equipment and personnel. The larger departments have motorized equipment, but horse-drawn fire engines are still found in the smaller places. Tarpaulins are not only used to prevent water and smoke damage, but to protect neighboring structures.
