FIREMEN’S PRIZES AT PAN-AMERICAN EXPOSITION.
The bureau of sports of the Buffalo, N. Y., PanAmerican exposition company,has decided on the prizes and events in connection with the twenty-ninth annual convention of the New York State Firemen’s association in August. Races will take place at the exposition station, and the list of events and prizes is as follows: Thursday, August 22—Prize drill; first prize, $200; second prize, $100; third prize, $50. Hand engine—First prize, $250; second prize, $150; third prize, $100. Friday, August 23—Hose race; first prize, $250; second prize, $150 ; third prize, $100. Hook and ladder race—First prize, $150; second prize, $75; third prize, $25. Hub-und-hub race—First prize, $125; second prize, $75; third prize, $50. These contests arc open to all bona fide fire companies and firemen’s associations of the United States and Canada, who must furnish their own apparatus. Competent judges will he appointed to decide the events, and the entries will close on August 1.
