Fond du Lac Report
The annual report of the water department of the city of Fond du Lac, Wis., shows that this department had net proceeds amounting to $25,590.77 during the fiscal year ending July 31, 1913. The gross income of the department was $38,147.65. Deductions for interest, debts, mortgages, etc., reduced this amount to $25,590.77. Under the division of operating revenues, the report shows that the total operating revenues amounted to $65,790.71, this amount including earnings from commercial sales, industrial sales, hydrant rentals, sprinkling, etc. The operating expenses were $17,643.06, which leaves gross income $38,1 47.65. The greatest earnings for the year were from commercial sales, the total in this instance being $32,065.75. Industrial sales brought in a total of $2,169, while from municipal hydrant rental the sum of $13,688 was realized. Other revenue came from sprinkling. $3,567.02; municipal department, $3,636.52; merchandise sales, $19.25; miscellaneous earnings from operation, $357.92, etc. The report further shows that the cost of steam power at the plant for the year amounted to $8,317, while electric power totaled $5,049. The balance of the expenditure account embraced miscellaneous items, of which $1,301.95 was for distribution. The total assets of the department, according to the trial balance, which is made a part of the annual report, amount to $402,965.68, while total liabilities are listed at $377,374.91.
