Garage Air Compressors.
The Clayton Air Compressor Works, East Cambridge, Mass., has just issued bulletin C207, describing the Clayton vertical high speed air compressors particularly designed for automobile garage work, or any other work where a compact self-contained compressing unit of moderate capacity is desirable. In garages they are useful for inflating tires, cleaning cushions and inaccessible parts of engines, supplying air blast for brazing or soldering. They are built for pully, chain or gear drive from line shaft, electric motor, gasoline or steam engine, or water power. Among the types shown are both stationary and portable complete equipments, consisting of compressor, motor, air receiver, and starting devices for automatically maintaining any set pressure of air. The compressors have dust proof enclosed frames with oil reservoir in the base for splash lubricating. They are self-oiling, pactically noiseless, have no stuffing boxes no parts to be adjusted and minimum clearcnce in the cylinders. All bearings are renewable, little floor space is required, they are easy to install and no skilled attention is necessary. Three different styles are illustrated, single, duplex and triplex vertical high high speed air compressors.
