Garage Planned to Solve Parking Problem
There is scarcely a large city in the United States that is not faced with the problem of what to do with the large number of automobiles that are parked in the city streets for long periods of time. A certain area in New York City will soon have its parking troubles ended.
A 24-story community garage is to be erected a short distance from Third Avenue running through from Forty-Second to Forty-Third streets. The excavation is now being made, and the building is expected to be completed by next December. This garage is adjacent to the theatre section and will relieve the acute congestion that exists there during the evening performances.
New York City is not the only place that has considered the skyscraper garage. Other large cities are considering or are erecting garages many floors in height.
