Good for What Ails Us
THERE’S an old saying, “The nearer an ailment approached a crisis the nearer it is to a cure.”
- Well, people in general now have a better understanding of the underlying weaknesses in the country’s banking and financial structure, and this in itself will go a long way toward making corrective measures permanently workable.
- A fire department without adequate manpower and equipment is in no different position than a bank without adequate funds, so far as a community’s welfare is concerned. False economy programs and the apparent indifference of the people, are gradually bringing about a fire protection crisis throughout the country. Let’s hope that we won’t have to wait for a series of conflagrations to bring about the necessary remedy.
- Maybe a fire department holiday would be a good thing, hey wot?
