Greetings from Other Side of the World

The illustration in the panel herewith is the first page of a neat card sent FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING with greetings of the season from G. Clair Barlett, supervising fireman, Shanghai fire brigade, Shanghai, China. This is printed in red on handmade paper, 5 1/2 by 7 inches, and on the second page of the folder is a photograph of the fire brigade, reproduction of which is shown in the large picture accompanying this article. In front of the members of the brigade in the center will be seen a group of tools consisting of compass, calipers, mallet, Stilson wrench and anvil. Several members of the brigade are armed with tools, among which will be noted from right to left, first man with pike pole, second with an auger, third with a buck saw, fourth with a double lantern and fifth with a hand saw. The members of the brigade, it will be seen, are uniformed in trim jackets, duck trousers and high boots. The officers are seen in the center behind the group of tools.
