Washington, D.C.-Former Oklahoma City Assistant Chief Jon Hansen has declined President Bush’s nomination for the post of administrator of the United States Fire Administration (USFA).
Hansen requested that his be withdrawn, according to a White House press release. No other details were given. A new nominee was not proposed.
Reportedly, Hansen’s decision was based on the fact that he would have been separated from his family during the work week and when on business trips. As USFA administrator, he would have been required to reside in the vicinity of Washington, D.C.
