Hearing on Daix Bill

Hearing on Daix Bill

By the valiant fight made by Fire Marshal George W. Elliott of Philadelphia backed up by a committee of Philadelphia women headed by Mrs. Frederick Schoff, president of the Philadelphia Child Welfare Association and the National Congress of Mothers, the Daix bill was saved from being killed in committee and will undoubtedly be reported out for action by the Pennsylvania House. The hearing was held on March 12 and was attended by, besides the committee of women, representatives of manufacturers of fireworks and many others in favor and against the bill, which regulates the manufacture and sale of dangerous fireworks and other explosives. It is expected that the bill will now be passed, possibly with amendments.
