Highbrow “Lights Out”

BOSTON used to have the reputation of being the country’s most “highbrow” city; but this doubtful honor now appears fo be in grave danger of falling fo New York.
- You can imagine the surprise of New Yorkers the other day fo discover posted to front doors of all office buildings, factories, stores and what not, signs reading:
- Translated that simply says: “All lights must be put out before closing.” Why didn’t they say so?
- If FIRE ENGINEERING were edited in the style of illumination is required fo be extinguished, if would scarcely serve the useful purpose if now does, would if!
“Illumination is required to be extinguished before these premises are closed to business.”
