HO, FOR THE MONTREAL CONVENTION.
Preparations are already making by FIRE AND WATER for the great convention of the fire chiefs to take place at Montreal in August. A large party is being formed in this city which will leave New York on Saturday morning, August 11, by the Albany day boat, thus affording a delightful view of the magnificent Hudson and its scenery. The party will leave Albany on Saturday night, on sleeping cars over the famous New York Central Road, and reach the historie Thousand Islands Sunday morning. It is intended to remain here over Sunday to enjoy the sights and scenery. At K o’clock on .Monday morning the party leave by steamer for Montreal, by t h«‘ way of the St. Lawrence river, eu route running the far-famed I.aeblue Rapids. Montreal will lie rear bed on Monday, evening, at 0 o’clock. The return trip will he by way of Delaware A Hudson R. R. to IMat sImrgli; •hence by steamer across Lake Champlain to Fort Ticonderoga, and by railroad to llaldw inat the head of Cake George. The steamer w ill convey the party from that point to the foot ol t In* lake ; thence by railroad ^to Saratoga Springs, w here as long a stay can he made as desired.
