Horses Burned in Stable
Sixty-seven out of ninety horses and mules were burned to death in a fire believed to be of incendiary origin which attacked the stables of the Hall Teaming and Coal Co., Louisville, Ky. Other stock fatally injured in the stampede that ensued had to be shot. The resultant loss is said to be $70,000 to the Hall Company. The Bryne & Speed Coal Co. sustained a loss of $10,000 when the flames destroyed a section of its yards. For a time the fire threatened to communicate to an area about 3 blocks square given over to coal and lumber yards.
